The previous analysis covers Earthsiege 1.0. This survey adds the supplied expansion and the archive labelled “Source”, which contains disc images and an executable patch. It contains no source-code tree.
| Supplied edition | What differs |
| October 1994 CD | Our existing 1.0 reference installation. |
| October 1996 reissue | All 178 original files match. The 402 additions include a PDF manual, Earthsiege 2, CyberStorm and Hunter Hunted demos, and Windows setup software. |
| March 1995 expansion CD | New campaigns, HERCs, scenery, music and movies, plus game fixes. Its ISO and MDF copies contain exactly the same 65,872 data sectors. |
| Expansion floppy package | Its seven data volumes match the CD expansion. It has a different DBSIM.EXE and omits the CD expansion's speech and movies. The ZIP is a redistributed three-disk installer, with scene files and flattened timestamps. |
| April 1995 expansion patch | A third expansion simulator executable, bundled separately. Its accompanying instructions identify it as ESXPANPT. |
Run ./run_earthsiege_dosbox.sh to choose an installed edition. The 1996 base disc shares the 1.0 game payload, so it does not need a duplicate install. The original install remains available.
The parsers consume all 37 expansion mission files, 23 model resources, 13 songs, 26 palettes and 148 bitmap resources without decoding errors. Some patch resources replace or repeat base-game assets. These structural checks are now accompanied by an original-code simulator comparison: weapons, resource priority, scanner, cleanup, radio and graphics paths. Whole expansion campaigns remain outside the base-game native validation. The main model and mission browsers currently display the 1.0 data.
Original DOSBox checks
The separate expansion installs have been exercised through Battleset 2 selection and mission launch. These are installation smoke checks, separate from the 1.0 fidelity tests.

Expansion missions
The campaign table contains three groups of eight missions. Thirteen further files supply single missions. Select a row to read the original English briefing and objectives. Conditional text is shown with its original variable and ranges.
The manual also describes one-way career transfer to Battleset 2, optional HERC/salvage transfer, Cybrid landing craft, PBW2, EMP2, ELF2 and the plasma launcher. Their runtime behavior is part of the remaining expansion investigation.
Model resources
The new chassis profiles name Apocalypse, Diablo and Headhunter. RUINS and WASTE add terrain variants. The files below include replacement weapon, effect and building models as well as new objects. Links open complete decoded hierarchies.
Music
Six battle songs and seven shell songs. None is byte-identical to a base-game song. The event files retain the hardware routing and authored timing; they are not audio renders.

Volume comparison
Names and file bytes are compared with the original CD's volumes. This table does not assume an expansion resource-loading order.
