Controls and input
Apache reads continuous flight controls separately from its key commands. The tables here come from executing the original registration and control-processing routines.
Flying by keyboard
| Control | Increase / positive | Decrease / negative |
|---|
| Collective | Q or keypad + | A or keypad − |
| Pitch | Down | Up |
| Roll | Right | Left |
| Tail rotor | Z or Insert | X or Delete |
| Gunner's Hydra elevation | W | S |
| Magnification | . | , |
Holding a direction builds its input over 0.64 seconds. Releasing the key clears that axis; changing direction starts the ramp again. The original keyboard timer runs at 100 Hz. Game time uses 200 ticks per second.
Joystick response
The original response is quadratic outside the deadband. These are the actual 256-entry curves, checked against the original constructor and calibrated axis reader.
Key commands
Choose a registration group to distinguish normal game controls, flight models, multiplayer and development controls. The callback column preserves the original source name.
