# TFX slideshow preview · Jurassic Park CD

[Picture gallery](index.html) · [Native files](../../extracted/jurassic_park_tfx_preview/files/) · [Hashes and provenance](manifest.json) · [Audio comparison](audio-comparison.json)

This is the TFX slideshow bundled with Ocean's Jurassic Park CD-ROM. Its 47 pictures and `SLIDE.EXE` carry **6 October 1993** timestamps; the supplied disc's filesystem records **12 July 1995** as its mastering date. These are recorded asset/media dates, rather than independently established capture or release dates.

The native files remain in `extracted/jurassic_park_tfx_preview/files/`: `TFX/SCREEN00.LBM` through `SCREEN46.LBM`, `TFX/SLIDE.EXE`, and the root `TFXDEMO.BAT` launcher, with the native directory layout and file modification times preserved. The 47 PNGs in `images/` preserve the indexed 320 × 200 pixels and original palettes. The preview is a slideshow, with fades through black and CD-audio accompaniment observed in DOSBox; it contains no playable TFX engine or mission data. The gallery lists pictures in filename order and does not reproduce the native timing or transitions.

## Early virtual cockpit layouts

The Eurofighter virtual-cockpit views in [SCREEN17](images/SCREEN17.png) and [SCREEN37](images/SCREEN37.png) show weapon information on the **right MFD**. The refuelling-view layout noted during review differs from the later reference cockpit artwork, where the static weapons/loadout display is on the **left**. Other preview screenshots, including [SCREEN30](images/SCREEN30.png) and [SCREEN44](images/SCREEN44.png), show blank MFD faces. These are useful evidence of cockpit art and layout iteration before the reference version. See the [cockpit research notes](../cockpits.md).

## Shared soundtrack

The native player requests Jurassic Park **CD track 12**, which is the existing **TFX CD track 6**. Its entire overlap with the September 1994 recording is sample-identical after a 774-frame alignment. December is also identical throughout the musical interior, with only tiny final-boundary differences. The preview track lasts **4:44.106667**, about two seconds shorter than the TFX cut, mostly omitting trailing silence.

We discarded the duplicate preview FLAC and original Jurassic Park CD image set after verification. When opened from the local research collection, the gallery plays the [existing December TFX track 6 FLAC](../../extracted/cd_1993_12/audio/track-06.flac); no second recording is stored here. The [comparison report](audio-comparison.json) retains the source hashes and measurements, including the removed FLAC's historical hash.

## Native playback requirement

`TFXDEMO.BAT` changes into `TFX` and runs `SLIDE.EXE`. The executable checks `INT 2Fh / AX=1500h` at file offset `0x22f` and prints **Error: You must install MSCDEX!!!** if no CD drive is reported. DOSBox supplies this interface when a CUE is mounted. Running the unmodified player with its intended audio therefore requires an externally supplied original Jurassic Park CD image with track 12; those source BIN/CUE files are no longer stored in this analysis. No executable patch was made.
